Bowling to measure meters

The measuring with trundle wheels continues today.  We had to record our data for distance, perimeter and length of large animals.

Other names for the trundle wheel are:  "A surveyor's wheel, also called a clickwheelhodometerwaywisertrundle wheelmeasuring wheel or perambulator is a device for measuring distance."  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surveyor%27s_wheel

The weather was so wonderful today that students got to do the drum fit outside.  Here are some photos of their workout.

Our animal research into endangered species continues to expand our background knowledge and synthesize connections between our learning conversations.  Here are some examples of student learning their visual sketch journals.  This learning task gives students an opportunity to inquire into a real world problem:  the impacts of human choices on ecosystems and habitats.  It also makes them aware of the cause and effect relationships that exists in our world today as humans and animals live together.  They are learning how conservation efforts can make a difference, if we choose to speak out.  Activists who believe they can make a change.
