Wondering Wednesday - Who is Louis Masai?

Did you know?  ...

50% of the planet’s species could become extinct by 2050

Connected to our science exploration into life cycles and the interaction within ecosystems we have been investigating a current real world artist activist actions to bring awareness to the declining animal populations and the rise of endangered species.  Our big question over the last two days has been Who is Louis Masai?  We watched a video about his work yesterday and had some deep conversations and connections to our 30 X 30 Nature Challenge.  Here is a photo of all of our connected thinking from this morning.

Here is a link to Louis Masai's website for you to learn about his latest venture to create wall murals all over the United States to raise awareness.  His grafitti sparks the reading powers.  See what connections, questions and inferences you can make to transform your thinking.

During our Learning Commons time on Thursday's we have been using the beautiful animal puppets to read with and work on our fluency (speed of reading).  The puppets also spark connections back to science and ecosystems, lifecycles and animal adaptations.  Here are some photos our teamwork with the puppets.
