Talking Tuesday and Wondering Wednesday

Well it's been a full two days since Monday.

First, an enormous thank you to all who attended our student led conferences.  It was a great turn out and I really appreciated getting to talk to you about our new home reading program.  I know that all of us in room 123 will make amazing thinking progress by reading with you at home and teaching you  the reading powers at home.

Wondering Wednesday was a day for stories.  We started our morning with the school wide writing task.  Looking at a prompt and creating a story.  I want to thank everyone for persisting with this task and taking responsible risks with their stories.   Then, we had the pleasure of welcoming back to our school the great orator, Denise Miller.   She is a master story teller!  We were thoroughly entertained. She had us hanging on her every word,  as she created suspense through words, dance and drumming.  Here are some photos for you to enjoy:
